The breakdown of a marriage, civil partnership or any relationship can be stressful and impact individuals in different ways. Our experienced solicitors provide sympathetic advice when they guide you through the legal options of divorce, dissolution or separation. We will discuss the options available and work closely with you to minimise the distress that the end of a relationship can bring.

Our specialist team will support you through the painful decisions which can arise following divorce, dissolution or separation including financial arrangements and difficulties or disputes relating to your children.

Domestic abuse comes in many forms and is often difficult to discuss. The abuse is designed to threaten and intimidate or cause harm to the other party. This can include controlling behaviour, damage to property, emotional, psychological, sexual, verbal and financial abuse, harassment and intimidation, physical abuse/injury and stalking. If you need protective orders (non molestation and occupation orders) these can be obtained urgently. Our team is able to offer you a relaxed environment where you can feel safe to discuss your concerns confidentially and without time constraints. Our Ms Lalli is an accredited Domestic Violence Advisor Advanced Family Law Panel Solicitor.

Legal Aid is available but on occasions we will need to assess your eligibility.

No case is ever the same, so specialist divorce lawyers, we give each case the utmost dedication and focus. There is no set formula for division of income and assets although certain factors must be taken into account. In the course of a divorce, Judges have a wide discretion to redistribute income and assets to produce a fair result. We cannot predict exactly what would be awarded but we can advise you what type of settlement to expect within certain limits.

We always attempt to agree a settlement, rather than proceeding to a contested Court hearing where a decision is imposed upon the parties by a Judge. An agreed settlement is often quicker and will usually resolve a dispute more amicably. Furthermore, the legal costs involved in a negotiated settlement rather than a contested Court hearing will probably be less. If a satisfactory settlement is not possible though, we would advise issuing an application which ultimately could go before a Judge to be decided.

Our team has a particularly strong track record in representing High Net Worth individuals, involving Trusts (both onshore and offshore) and interests in Companies, whether formed before or after the marriage and offshore assets which are not easily realisable even with an English court order.

  4. Lump Sum Order (A lump sum of money from one spouse/civil partner to the other). H AND B 2022 EWHC 526 (fam) (11 March 2022)

  6. Pension Orders (The Court can order pension sharing or earmark part of the spouse/civil partner’s Pension Scheme for the benefit of the other spouse/civil partner).
